I am the county liaison for Bertie County Farm Bureau Federation. I have been in this job now for over 7 years. I was clueless to the impact the county Farm Bureaus have on their communities. I work with the most gracious, concerned and hard working men and women I know on our Board of Directors. When the tornadoes came through our county in April they jumped right into action. They saw a need and made sure people in the community had a safe place to keep what little belongings they had left, with the Container Relief Program. Through the help of other counties our county farm bureau was able to be there when the need came up. They are so willing to help out with needs in the schools and organizations throughout the community. The monatary donations; without even a blink of an eye, as well as their time, has made me so proud to be a tiny party of this awesome group of people. Thank you to the Bertie County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for allowing me to be a part of this experience. Connie Smithwick, Bertie County Farm Bureau County Liaison.
