Meet N’ Skeet

Gates County Young Farmers and Ranchers hosted a Meet N’ Greet skeet shooting event in September 2024 for the young farmers of Gates, Chowan, Perquimans and Pasquotank counties. The event included a great meal and sharing opportunities offered by Farm Bureau.

Alpacas and Advocacy

Following a very successful legislative meet-and-greet on Franklin County Farm Bureau President Steve Nelms’ farm, staff from the offices of U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis, Sen. Ted Budd and Rep. Brad Knott traveled to Hardly Farm “Alpacas in the Pines” to check out the agritourism destination.

Dairy Exciting

The Polk County Women’s Committee celebrated June Dairy Month by hosting a booth at the Columbus Farmers’ Market. They read Tales of the Dairy Godmother, gave away free samples of ice cream from Looking Glass Creamery, and had cow masks and activities for kids.

Successful Succession Planning

In March 2025, Rowan County Farm Bureau hosted a two-day succession planning conference called “Cultivating a Legacy.” The event featured speakers, a key adviser panel and in-depth discussion of financial considerations, estate planning, and farm transition planning.

Lunch & Learn

In February 2025, Wayne County Farm Bureau hosted a legislative luncheon for Wayne County commissioners and supporting staff, city council members, NC Farm Bureau representatives, and county Farm Bureau board members, where county growth, development and planning were discussed.

West Lincoln High School agriculture program

Barn-Building Business

The West Lincoln High School agriculture program has received approval from the Board of Education to build a barn and begin keeping large animals for training with their students. To support the project, Lincoln County Farm Bureau designated $20,000 to help build the barn.
