Wake County Farm Bureau (WCFB) hosted N.C. Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom for a K-8th grade teacher workshop at J&J Thompson Farms in Wake Forest. The workshop provided 17 teachers with knowledge and resources while they explored a local farm producing tobacco, grains, wheat, soybeans, and cucumbers on a tour led by farm owner and WCFB President Jackie Thompson. Teachers left the workshop with classroom-ready activities and lesson plans aligned directly to the Common Core and State Essential standards, and equipped with the tools needed to educate students about their local sources of food and fiber.
