Visit the Caldwell Heritage Museum in Lenoir to learn more about the history of Caldwell County from precolonial times to today. The museum features educational services and exhibits, more than 20 permanent displays of donated artifacts and several special-interest collections on medicine, music, the military and photography.
Among the many artifacts in the museum, guests will find Native American spears and arrowheads, early maps, grants and deeds. Visitors will also learn about the founding of Caldwell County and the development of Lenoir as a furniture manufacturing center.
The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
