Mark your calendars for a family-fun event celebrating one of northeastern North Carolina’s largest crops – potatoes!
The annual North Carolina Potato Festival takes place May 15-17, 2026, in Elizabeth City. Guests can enjoy the three-day event, which features a midway, fair food, an auto and motorcycle show, Little Miss Tater Tot pageant and the National Potato Peeling Contest. There’s also a fun run/walk and a U.S. Coast Guard search and rescue demonstration over the Pasquotank River. Not to mention free french fries while supplies last!
