Secrets of Soil

North Carolina’s varied, vital agriculture industry starts with the soil. Everything that is grown in the state depends on healthy soil. In fact, our food, clothes, houses, cars and more are all connected to soil.

This summer, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is teaching consumers more about this important aspect by hosting Dig It! The Secrets of Soil exhibit from May 16 to Aug. 16.

The 5,000-square-foot traveling exhibit features more than 50 different soil monoliths, a hands-on soils display with infrared gas analyzers, touch-screen interactive displays and more.

The museum anticipates more than 100,000 visitors to the exhibit, celebrating 2015 as the International Year of Soils. Don’t miss your chance to see it.
