NEW HANOVER COUNTY Farm Bureau is sponsoring the New Hanover County 4-H Acres of Adventure program, which targets students in third through fifth grades to teach them agricultural literacy and agricultural science through hands-on learning. With its $1,000 contribution, New Hanover County Farm Bureau allowed 85 students from area afterschool programs to participate.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY Farm Bureau sponsored several school gardens in the county. Board members Durwood Baggett and Ed Vosnock visited the schools—Anderson Elementary, Bellamy Elementary, Gateway Academy, Milestone School, Pax Natura Academy, the Early Childhood Education Center and Childcare Network—to deliver plants and help students plant.
