CATAWBA COUNTY Farm Bureau Women’s Committee is reading How Did That Get in My Lunch Box? at each of the county’s 28 elementary schools through next fall. They are also donating teaching aids along with the book and a poster to the school library.

CLAY COUNTY Farm Bureau’s newly formed Women’s Committee assisted with its first event. The committee helped with the Spring Farm Fest, which was hosted by the Clay County Small Farms Initiative and the Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District March 29 at Truett Camp. Committee members helped with registration and presented attendees with Farm Bureau information and a complimentary Farm Bureau cup and pair of work gloves. About 90 small farmers attended the event, which was held to educate locals about agriculture in Clay County and featured a locally grown breakfast.

Ref Perquimans County FB Women’s Committee article about making underarm pillows for breast cancer patients, please have them contact me. I would like to know more about the project, if it’s spreading to other cities in NC, and how I can help. Thanks.
