Rudd Farm in Greensboro—run by (from left) Matt, Joan and Kenneth Rudd—is the North Carolina Strawberry Association's Grower of the Year.DAVIDSON COUNTY Farm Bureau Members Joan and Kenneth Rudd, of Rudd Farm in Greensboro, accepted the award for “Grower of the Year” from the North Carolina Strawberry Association. In 2000, The Rudds added their first strawberry crop on about 1.5 acres, and they currently grow 9.5 acres of strawberries. Their son Matt and other family members farm with them. Kenneth was president of the Strawberry Association in 2007 and 2008. The couple received the award during the Southeast Strawberry Expo in November.
