Burke
The East Burke High School FFA chapter teamed up with Farm Bureau to help sponsor the Mobile Dairy Unit of Southland Dairy Farmers at two Burke County elementary schools: George Hildebrand Elementary and Icard Elementary. Willy the Safety Squirrel discussed smoke alarm safety and the importance of checking the batteries in smoke alarms twice per year. FFA members read to the students, helped them make butter and talked about egg production. Southland Dairy Farmers demonstrated the process of milking a cow to the students at Icard Elementary. Kids at both schools enjoyed the presentations.
