Union
Union County Farm Bureau along with cooperative extension sponsored a Farm Employee Safety Day event on March 17. The program began with Spanish-speaking sessions on shop safety, electrical safety, large equipment safety and pesticide safety in the morning, followed with English speaking in the afternoon. The two groups came together for lunch and a demonstration on grain bin safety. Union County had a grain bin death in January, so everyone felt this event was very helpful. Hopefully, it will save lives. The AgriMedicine Institute out of ECU provided the training for the event.
