Franklin County

The Franklin County Public Library in Louisburg, two local beekeepers, the children’s services librarian, the Franklin County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, and Franklin County Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee collaborated on an event surrounding the book, The Beeman. The beekeepers shared their expertise with a group of young participants, including a honey sampling and cupcakes with honey made by Elaine Duke. The women’s committee and YF&R purchased and donated the book for each county library branch, as well as for each of the county’s elementary school libraries. In addition to the many community service projects of both Farm Bureau representatives, they are busy promoting agriculture and serving as advocates for farmers and ranchers.
