Ben Stroup

John Benjamin “Ben” Stroup Jr., 88, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2016. Ben graduated from Newell School in 1945 and attended NC State University. After college, he returned to the Back Creek area to begin his dairy-farming career, which lasted almost 60 years. He truly enjoyed working the land and producing Jersey milk. He served on the Mecklenburg County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for more than 50 years, including several years as president. He also served on the North Carolina Farm Bureau Board of Directors for more than 15 years.
