Cherokee County Farm Bureau

Cherokee County

Cherokee County Farm Bureau donated $1,000 toward a large gardening project at The Learning Center Charter School in Murphy. The school is committed to teaching young people where their food comes from, as well as how to grow their own. The school sources as much local vegetables and meat as possible for use in its own cafeteria. The school has also been awarded two of North Carolina Farm Bureau’s Going Local grants since the program’s inception for similar agriculture-related projects.
