Today, agriculture continues to be a key economic driver in the Old North State. Agriculture and agribusiness account for almost one-fifth of the state’s income and employees. Extension continues to work on educational programs to provide affordable, nutritious food and other ag products such as fiber, wood and fuel to North Carolinians.
