peach facts

Don’t miss out on one of North Carolina’s tastiest summer festivals – the North Carolina Peach Festival in Candor.

Celebrating the peach-growing history of Montgomery County, the festival is held the third Saturday in July each year in downtown Candor. It kicks off with a parade at 10 a.m., complete with local floats, firetrucks, and more. Afterward, head to Fitzgerald Park for more fun, such as bounce houses, a petting zoo, camel rides, a mechanical bull, helicopter rides, putt-putt golf, live entertainment and more. Plus, there will be no shortage of fresh, ripe peaches, with everything from homemade peach ice cream, a peach cooking contest and sweet peaches to take home.

This year’s festival takes place July 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more at ncpeachfestival.com.
