Head to the “Strawberry Capital of the World” in Chadbourn this May to celebrate the North Carolina Strawberry Festival’s 92nd year. The event is the longest-running agricultural festival in the state and features a full lineup of strawberry-themed activities and entertainment. Highlights include a parade, a strawberry recipe contest, live music performances, a car show, food and craft vendors, and plenty of opportunities to sample fresh, locally grown strawberries in a variety of tasty forms. While the main festival takes place on Saturday, May 3, the festival also hosts other festivities leading up to the big day, including an opening ceremony and a pageant.
