We Dig It Ag Day

On March 21, Odom Farming Co. teamed up with Wayne County Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers & Ranchers, Wayne County FFA chapters and other entities to host the first “We Dig It” ag day event.

The hands-on learning experience was designed to teach second-graders in the county about farming and the true origins of their food. Hosted at Odom Farms in Goldsboro, students rotated between 12 learning stations that included topics like hogs and poultry, corn and beans, sweet potatoes, honeybees and more.

Students and teachers alike declared the day a success! It was beneficial for the younger students, the FFA members who helped, sponsors, parents and teachers. Emily Odom says her family’s farm is already considering ideas for next year.
