Left: HAYWOOD COUNTY Farm Bureau, along with Crabtree-Ironduff Fire Department, the Mountain Research Station and others, sponsored a Farm Safety Day March 2 at the Crabtree-Ironduff Fire Department. The day included lessons on farm safety plans, tractor rollovers, first responder considerations, chemical and fuel storage guidelines and personal protective equipment. Then participants rotated through stations about DMV regulations and the proper way to secure loads, chainsaw safety and proper methods for felling trees and hydraulic and PTO safety.
