Wake County Farm Bureau

Wake County Farm Bureau Board member Fred Burt (pictured left) and Wake County Women’s Committee Chair Shirley Burt (pictured right) attended the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Bounty on Sept. 14, 2013, educating those in attendance about sun safety. Wake County Farm Bureau promoted safety during National Farm Safety Week by purchasing earplugs that were distributed at all six county Farm Bureau offices, and attended the Yates Mill Harvest Celebration on Sept. 21, 2013.

Wake County Farm Bureau brought agriculture to the Goddard School on Oct. 16, 2013. Wake County Vice President Richard Jenks (pictured left) drove a tractor to the school and brought vegetables for the children to study. Wake County Women’s Committee Chair Shirley Burt (pictured right) taught the children how to milk Bernice the Dairy Cow, and each class was read a story about the dairy industry.
