Nash County Farm Bureau

Nash County

Albert T. Batchelor of Sandy Cross was inducted into the N.C. State Fair Livestock Hall of Fame in the Swine category for his support and participation in the market hog shows at the fair. Batchelor has bred or shown 14 grand champions and seven reserve grand champions at the N.C. State Fair. Along with raising pigs most of his life, Albert also taught school and coached sports in Nash County for 34 years before retiring from Nash-Rocky Mount School System. He has also been an active Nash County Farm Bureau member for many years, as well as a great supporter of youth exhibitors, as countless young people have shown Batchelor’s pigs.
