Haywood County Farm Bureau

Haywood County

The Haywood County Toys for Tots Tractor Parade was held on Saturday, Oct. 11. The group was organized by the Ole Smoky Antique Tractor Club and sponsored by Haywood County Farm Bureau Insurance. The 14-mile route ran across the county and took a midway lunch break at the county office where Pisgah High School FFA students sold barbecue box lunches as a fundraiser for their program. Tractor participants were asked to supply either a $10 donation or a $10 toy. In total, 39 tractors, three farm trucks and an antique fire engine ran the route. A U.S. Marine Staff Sargent was at the end of the parade to accept the donations. The county’s farm community came together to create quite a scene.
