Transylvania County Farm Bureau

Transylvania County

Transylvania County Farm Bureau sponsored an FFA Creed Speaking Contest for Rosman and Brevard high schools on April 1. Winners received their prize money during a special dinner held to recognize accomplishments at Hawg Wild Barbeque in Pisgah Forest. Pictured with their checks from Transylvania County Farm Bureau are, from left to right, Eliza Witherspoon (2nd place), Brevard FFA Advisor Andy VonCanon, David Howell (3rd place), board member Eddie Carter, Rachel Perry (4th place), board member Frank Summey, Ashley Ramer (5th place), Farm Bureau Vice President Leroy Newell, Ashlea Milligan (1st place), Transylvania County Farm Bureau President Jackie Whitmire and Rosman FFA Advisor Heather McNeely. The contest helps prepare students to compete at district- and state-level competitions, develops public speaking skills and encourages FFA members to know their Creed.
