Earth Day is just around the corner on April 22, but for hardworking North Carolina farmers, this holiday is celebrated 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
While Earth Day has become one of the largest civic observances in the world, farmers are the original environmentalists, taking care of our nation’s land, air and water daily. Since 1982, stewardship by farmers across the U.S. has resulted in a 50 percent decrease in wind and water erosion of cropland.
This year, while celebrating the beautiful planet we live on, thank a farmer for taking care of it day in and day out.
