Comedy, tragedy, history – the Cape Fear Shakespeare on the Green festival has it all.
North Carolina’s oldest and largest free outdoor Shakespeare festival is a summer must-do, with gates opening on show nights at 6:30 p.m. and performances in the 900-seat amphitheater starting at 8 p.m. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy before the show, then sit back and relax as actors perform the works of William Shakespeare beginning May 29 and running through June. This year’s festival celebrates more than 20 years of Shakespeare at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington.
