NC REAL Ag Entrepreneurship Program

Agricultural entrepreneurs can now receive a helpful boost and guidance in their business thanks to Vance-Granville Community College’s new program.

The school has launched the NC REAL Agricultural Entrepreneurship program, which is designed to help budding business owners develop and manage a profitable, environmentally sound small farm or agricultural business.

Whether growing crops, raising livestock, producing their own jams and jellies, or manufacturing beeswax products, the seven-week interactive course teaches the basis of business management, finance requirements, safety standards and more. Participants will learn to handle challenges including pricing their products, generating income between growing seasons and selecting the best market to sell their products. At the end of the hands-on course, each participant will become a client of the Vance-Granville Community College Small Business Center, where business planning can be taken to the next level.

The program is ideal for any farmer or agricultural entrepreneur looking to start their own business or who has been in business for zero to three years. Tuition for the course is $70 with a $25 textbook fee. Learn more at vgcc.edu.
