In 2010, avid toy and miniature collector Amy Dawn Morris passed away after fighting a rare muscle-wasting disease. To honor her memory and showcase her vast collection, the Morris family founded the museum so other enthusiasts could enjoy her collections.

Over the last 10 years, the nonprofit museum has acquired thousands of items for its exhibits, with the majority of the treasures donated by other collectors.

Mini Museum, Big Collection
Today, the NC Museum of Dolls, Toys & Miniatures is the perfect destination for people of all ages interested in rare collectibles, modern and antique dolls, trains, planes, Tinkertoys, dollhouses and more. There’s always something new to see and do at the museum with rotating exhibits, play spaces, hands-on exhibits and more. Bring the kids for a day trip or book the event space for fun parties filled with tutus and princess attire or Thomas the Train and toy cars.
In December 2024, the museum relocated to a bigger space and location at 440 South Salisbury Ave. in Spencer, NC. It is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 to 15, with discounts for seniors, military and members.
