WAKE COUNTY Farm Bureau Women’s Committee sponsored a lunch for the volunteers of the VIP for a VIP program April 12 at East Wake High School. There were approximately 40 volunteer firefighters, police officers, and EMS crew members. The Women’s Committee donated sandwiches, chips, and homemade dessert for people participating in a 911 simulation. Attending the safety presentation were 613 students and 20 staff.

WAKE COUNTY Farm Bureau Board of Directors sponsored a lunch for the Wake County Commissioners on April 16. The luncheon gave board members the opportunity to speak about current political issues with the commissioners. Several issues were discussed, including county laws affecting farmers, the importance of agriculture land use, immigration policies, estate laws, the future of Wake County agriculture, ETJ concerns, and taxes versus spending.
