Ask a Farmer - Dairy

Dairying, like many other enterprises, has changed dramatically over the last several decades. Technology has led to many advances in our industry. The expectations of consumers all over the world have made us more aware of the need to take the best possible care of our animals. We take pride in being good providers and are able to increase productivity and longevity by keeping our ladies comfortable. Cows, just like you and I, are going to perform best when they are happy and comfortable. I compare our dairy farm to the “all-inclusive” resorts around the world. All of our animals have access to a balanced buffet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They relax in individual beds on loose sand that is smoothed daily. They are housed in well-ventilated barns, where fans run continuously and water sprinklers keep them cool in the hot summer months. Cows are handled with care and respect. Our farm has been in the family for more than 125 years, and we strive to provide exceptional facilities for our animals to ensure our sustainability today and for future generations.
