Celebrating the Piedmont region’s diverse farmland, talented chefs, hardworking farmers and general creativity, the 9th Annual Pepper Festival in Chapel Hill is a can’t-miss event.

Held in the Briar Chapel neighborhood, the festival draws a crowd of more than 1,300 to enjoy live music, a kids’ zone and, of course, lots of peppers. Local chefs use the festival’s star ingredient to craft a variety of dishes ranging from traditional and spicy to outside-the-box sweets for attendees to sample.

This year’s event takes place Sunday, Oct. 2, from 2 to 7 p.m. Learn more and purchase tickets at pepperfestnc.org.
