Goodness Gracie

Husband-and-wife team Sallie and Carter Price are the masterminds behind Goodness Gracie, a gourmet food company in Wilmington.

The company got its start in 1995 when Sallie, then a caterer, found herself needing a quick dessert with on-hand ingredients. She solved the problem using her mother’s recipe for toffee cookies. Due to the overwhelming response that followed, she began running a small cookie company on the side.

Sallie and Carter wed in 1996 and named the cookie business after their dog, Gracie. Continued growth led the couple to take the business full-time in 2000, with products now including several varieties of the famous toffee cookies, plus salted pecans and cheddar crackers. Today, they sell their products in 42 states, but still make them in small batches to keep the homemade quality that led to their success.
