‘Tis the season for chestnuts roasting on an open fire – and High Rock Farm in Gibsonville can supply them.
The farm currently holds the title as the largest chestnut orchard in the mid-Atlantic with more than 500 chestnut trees that produce close to 26,000 pounds of chestnuts annually.
The nuts can be used in a variety of ways, raw or cooked, and enhance flavors in meat and fish dishes. You can also use chestnut flour in place of regular flour in baking recipes.

I have been missing the taste and flavor of roasted Chestnut and now that I’m a resident of North Carolina I can’t wait for the season and buy a few pounds to keep for the winter.
