High Rock Farm chestnuts

‘Tis the season for chestnuts roasting on an open fire – and High Rock Farm in Gibsonville can supply them.

The farm currently holds the title as the largest chestnut orchard in the mid-Atlantic with more than 500 chestnut trees that produce close to 26,000 pounds of chestnuts annually.

The nuts can be used in a variety of ways, raw or cooked, and enhance flavors in meat and fish dishes. You can also use chestnut flour in place of regular flour in baking recipes.

High Rock Farm sells chestnut flour, along with other farm products such as sugar-toasted pecans, sweet fruit wines and more. Find more information at high-rock-farm.org.

I have been missing the taste and flavor of roasted Chestnut and now that I’m a resident of North Carolina I can’t wait for the season and buy a few pounds to keep for the winter.

When can I buy fresh chestnuts? Do you ship? Also I would love to see the chestnut orchard.
