Before going green this Christmas, consider these helpful tips from North Carolina Christmas tree growers to keep your tree fresh throughout the season:
Make a Fresh Cut. After picking your tree, you’ll need to cut about a half-inch off the bottom. “These trees have sap in them that seals off the bottom,” says Johnny Wishon of Wishon Evergreens in Sparta. “When you make that fresh cut and put it in water, the tree will rehydrate itself.”
