Located in downtown Columbus, the House of Flags Museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary this September.
What began in 2001 as a local citizen’s mission to instill respect for the United States flag has now grown into a collection of more than 300 U.S., military, state and international flags on display in the museum. Visitors can see full-size reproductions of flags flown on U.S. soil from the early explorers in the 1500s to the present day while learning about the history and evolution of the American flag. Exhibits include Defenders of Freedom, Birth of a Nation, Price of Liberty, U.S. President’s Flags 1775 to 1960, 13 to 50 Stars and Stripes, and States and Territories.
The House of Flags Museum is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment for private group tours. Admission is free.
