Raised Beds for Rowan County

Landis Elementary School now has a new garden. Rowan County Farm Bureau and the county Extension office promoted the Friend of Farmer grant through the Rowan-Salisbury School System. Board members donated funds for the school to start and maintain a raised-bed garden on campus, and they coordinated with teachers on the installations. Thanks to the grant, these elementary school students are now able to get hands-on experience as they learn about growing tomatoes, squash, corn and more.
