ROBESON COUNTY Farm Bureau took Bessie the Cow to visit first and second-graders March 5 at Southeastern Academy in Lumberton. Students learned how to milk a cow.
ROBESON COUNTY Farm Bureau Women’s Committee members promoted Food Check-Out Week on Feb. 24 and 25 at Food Lion in Fairmont and St. Paul’s, Piggly Wiggly in Pembroke and IGA in St. Paul’s. Committee members Linda Britt, Janice Oxendine and Ghee Johnson handed out as many as 300 recipe cards each and spoke to customers about healthy, local food and the importance of nutrition.
