The Pitt County town of Ayden hosts the annual Ayden Collard Festival every September. It includes a Collard Eating Contest where one male and one female are named the collard-eating champions and receive $100 each in prize money. Contestants have 30 minutes to eat as many collards as possible.

The Ayden Collard Festival takes place Sept. 8-11, 2016. For more information, visit aydencollardfestival.com.
